 Work Stress or personal Life Stress - what is more stressful


Stress has become a serious issue almost everywhere and in everyone's life but the shape and size are different.

It is not like other health problems that can be easily detected by any clinical tests and should be known to everyone including its cure. The well-wishers show concern if anyone suffers from BP, Sugar, Thyroid, etc. but no one is aware of the STRESS, except the spelling. Everyone thinks that it is the personality issue of taking up things and then bursting out at your loved ones or office colleagues. But it is a serious mental issue like any other life-threatening health problem.

Now the question is what is stress and where does it come from in your life?

The answer is that Stress is an emotional or mental pain that is always there with you all the time and making your life miserable. It enters in your life in two ways: 

Work-life - work pressure, Toxic Managers, trickster colleagues, office politics, etc.  

OR

Personal life - family's over expectations, failure in relationships, being misunderstood all the time, financial issues, etc.

It has very adverse effects too:

1. Poor work performance 

2. Loss of job

3. Low self-esteem

4. Lack of confidence

5. Aggression

6. Feeling of Guilt

7. Anger

8. Suicidal thoughts etc.

How it can be dealt:

1. Concentration on your work/ relationships. Focus on your strengths and work on your weaknesses. complete your work with full determination as if it is a do-or-die situation.

2. Confidence- Recheck / revalidate your work/ actions and be confident while presenting that what you have done is correct. 

3. Feedback acceptance- There could be a space for improvement so don't be afraid of feedback. 

4. Acknowledge - Always acknowledge your mistakes with positivity and focus with double strength instead of any fear of losing the job/project/person.

5. Positivity- Toxicity can affect you only if you consider them important or entertain them. Be positive in every aspect. Though it sounds a bit difficult but it will surely help you to keep your mind calm and focused. 

6. Ready for learning- Learning is a never-ending process and anyone can teach either your manager, or your colleague, your juniors, kids, etc. So don't be afraid of learning.

7. Listening- Listening is a very good skill so listen carefully. Develop this skill of listening more and reacting less and it will be a boon in your life. Listening doesn't mean that you are listening to the hard/ bad words of your managers, taunts of your colleagues, family members, etc. Listening means learning from someone, and listening means understanding someone without a reaction. It sometimes calms you when you listen carefully to the other side of the story and then react to sort things out.

8. Give up or never Give up - This is the last option when nothing of your above skills works in a particular situation. Switch to a new better job or a new life partner or do whatever makes you happy. 

But don't Give up on your life. Life is not only about one job, a few people around you, or relationships, it is about YOU, Your happiness, Your achievements, your life, Only you and if you are free from stress, you will be happy and make others happy.
